We are honored to have been requested to provide an Honor Guard for Bishop Loverde for the Ordination of Permanent Deacons for the Arlington Diocese on Saturday, January 18 at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington. The Ordination Mass is at 11 AM; We are to assemble in the basement of Cathedral no later than 10:30. The Diocese is looking for an Honor Guard of 10-12 Sir Knights in Regalia. Several of the candidates are Knights. There is a Third Degree taking place at Fr. Diamond Council #6292 in Fairfax at the same time, so we need to redouble our efforts to ensure the ordination is covered by Sir Knights who need not participate at the Third Degree. In addition, there are several Northern Virginia Assemblies participating in the annual “Sweats for Vets” event at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV, again at the same time. So, once again, we are being stretched in several directions. We are fully committed to providing an Honor Guard for Bishop Loverde, our State Chaplain, for this event. Please contact me at FN1894@vakofc.org if you plan to attend. We want to make sure we do not embarrass Bishop Loverde or the Virginia Knights of Columbus at this event.
